In the agenda for the County Council meeting on November 18, 2024, item 1 A was “An Ordinance Authorizing The Issuance Of […] Bonds […] For The Purpose Of […] Broadband Communications System […]”.
The County Council approved the Ordinance unanimously.

In the only public comment before the vote, I observed that the County-wide telecommunication outage only a week before demonstrated the urgency of County involvement in telecommunication infrastructure.
I think we are going to get fiber to our homes with service supported by at least two fiber links off of the hill. There are things that might go wrong, but I feel confident now. I hope to get service to my house before the end of the decade.
